「Ooh, the adventurer jii-san and the little kids, huh, it’s been a while.」

Just as it was starting to get dark, we arrived at a nearby village. The souvenirs were Milhorns, Big Kokkos, and the Fighting Bull’s meat. If they said that they didn’t need the Milhorns and the Big Kokkos, then we could set them free outside the village. 

「Have you been well?」

「Ouu! I’m doing good!」

「Good!」

Perhaps they got along well, as Cruz-kun and my younger sister were deep in conversation with the village’s gatekeeper ojii-san. They were talking loudly, so the villagers noticed us, and perhaps they recalled who we were after seeing the wolf cubs, as they gathered around one by one. They were delighted when we gave them the souvenirs, and we received straw when we left. Around this area, there was the cheese village, cattle-breeding villages, and farming villages, so if I didn’t have my Item Box, then the goods would’ve been troublesome.

「Cruz-kun, do your best~.」

「I won’t lose–.」

「I can still continue!」

There was the meat that we gave as a souvenir, so we had a party with the villagers at the plaza today as well. Every time we came to this village, Cruz-kun would start binge-eating with the children of the village. There were not a lot of chances where they were able to stuff themselves with meat, so all the villagers watched with enjoyment.

Cruz-kun would usually eat happily, but this time, he was stress eating. Because we had not found any Steppe Horses today. I had also asked Pii-chan to search for them in the sky, but unfortunately, they couldn’t be found. Maa, the grasslands were vast, so there would be times when they wouldn’t be found, but even so, catching wild horses was difficult.

「You rarely see them, but you should look for sheep and goats.」

While drinking the alcohol and eating dried fish that we brought together, we received important information from the villager! It seems that there were sheep and goats living in these grasslands. I didn’t know if they were monsters or wild animals, but let’s try searching for them too.

Cruz-kun and the children were lying down with their swollen tummies, but would they be able to eat the fruits that were the dessert?

With that village being the first, we visited a few villages. There were farming villages that had spacious plots of land and villages that specialized in animal husbandry, so they were a short distance away, but we had no problem with running around. We hunted and captured the souvenirs for the villages and the villagers were delighted, but unfortunately, we were only able to capture four Steppe Horses, which were our objectives.

Perhaps the sheep and goats were rare, as we were unable to find them. 

I wanted to catch them because we needed Ojii-san to bring us here, and I didn’t know when we would come next time, so let’s hope for the best.

「Our cheese is delicious. Even so, yours is not bad either.」

In the cheese village, we had a competition and compared the cheese made at the orphanage with theirs. Or rather, I had only intended for them to taste them, but before I knew it, the villagers brought over their cheese dishes and it turned into a party.

「This dish, as expected of our village’s cheese.」

「This one, it unexpectedly goes well with this.」

The taste of cheese differed greatly depending on the production area and the milk that was used as the raw ingredient, so some dishes were good and some were not. Because of that, the villagers were having a blast talking about the food. When we left, we, of course, exchanged cheeses.

When we returned to Ojii-san’s house, Queen immediately came over and took the Steppe Horses with her. She was definitely training them. Maa, Queen was the master of this farm, so she could also act as the go-between with the other Steppe Horses.
