KT Chapter 2

When I opened my eyes, I saw a blue sky.

It seems that I was lying down, and I wanted to get up, but I couldn’t move as I liked.

I tried to speak, but again, I could only make「Ah~」and「Uh~」sounds.

And then, I remembered. That I reincarnated into another world. And, as a baby.

I tried to look at my surroundings, but I couldn’t see much as I could barely move, but it seems that I was in a basket.

He had said that I would reincarnate in an orphanage, but it was, most likely, as an abandoned baby.

As I thought that, something came closer.

Casting a shadow over me, an elderly woman with a kind face looked down into the basket at me.

“Aah, this person was definitely the director of the orphanage~,” was what I thought.

「Ara, ara, I wonder why you’re in such a place.」

As she said this, the woman held me in her arms.

And then, she gently patted my head. 

Feeling good from the caress, I kept wetting myself a secret. 

After that, she took me to a nearby building, and I now lived here in the『Sirius Orphanage』.

Even if I said that, I was a baby, so I was only being raised here.

I couldn’t move, and couldn’t speak, so why don’t I start by gathering information.

As several days passed, I had come to understand a number of things.

Firstly, it seems that this place was called Sirius Orphanage.

I have yet to leave the building, so I did not know where this place was.

The building was a little old, but it seems spacious.

The ones living here were, the director-sensei that I met in the beginning, and a female assistant? Also, it seems that there were ten children.

Among the children, there were some that were not humans and belonged to another race.

There were beastmen who had the body of a human with animal ears and tails.

There were beastkin who were similar to that of bipedal animals.

TN: the kanji for ‘beastman’ and ‘beastkin’ are quite similar, save for one character. As such, I have translated thus, where ‘beastman’ (beast+man) are humans with animal characteristics and ‘beastkin’ are intelligent animals who walk on their two hind legs.

According to Appraisal, it seems that beastmen were half human and half beastkin. In any case, they were fluffy and cute.

Incidentally, there was one rabbit beastman girl and one boy belonging to the wolf tribe in the orphanage.

Speaking of the orphanage, it seems that abandoned babies were uncommon, and there were always children gathered around me due to their extreme curiosity towards babies.

Was this my season of popularity.

As far as food and clothes, we were not well-off, but we weren’t destitute either.

The children were always smiling, and the director-sensei and the others were kind, so this was a good place.

After that, a few days had passed, but there was nothing to talk about!!

I was a baby, so I couldn’t move around, and I couldn’t talk either.

Thanks to Magic Manipulation, I was able to, somehow or another, feel my mana, but there were children constantly around me, so after reincarnating, I often practiced my magic when I was a child and became peerless in magic!!…was not what I could do either. 

U~n, I had a lot of free time.

After that, during the day, using Magic Manipulation, I circulated my mana throughout my body, absorbed the surrounding mana, and expelled the mana within my body, becoming more proficient in my control over mana.

At night, I practiced by producing small winds so as to not get found out & cause trouble to everyone.

And so, after having arrived at the orphanage for a month, something happened.

Another baby had come to the orphanage.
